WENDI'S MAKEUP TIPS & TRICKS!

YOU ALL HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR A WHILE NOW, SO HERE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITES MAKEUP TIPS & TRICKS...ENJOY!

TIP#1
LASHES: When applying a Lash Strip to the top of your Lid, following this guideline will ensure the best way to have your Lashes looking natural.
Take the Lash and place it above your eye to make sure it fits.
Trim it to fit from the long end. This makes it less noticeable when trimmed from this side. Second stay away from White Glue! I Don't know why this color glue was ever invented.
White glue never dries completely clear. It tends to look clumpy and unnatural. Use DARK glue instead, ALWAYS!
Take a small dab of your glue and squeeze it onto a flat surface.
Then take your Lash Strip and glide "both" the top side and the backside of the strip through the glue cleanly, with no lumps of glue. You may use a brush handle or a toothpick if it's easier for you.
Then take the Lash Strip and place it evenly above your lash on the skin.
As soon as you have it correctly in place... and here's the ("TIP TRICK")...
with the back of a pair of tweezers take your excess skin from your eyelid and roll it over the top of the lash strip, gluing your skin down over the Lash Strip top.
Start at one end and slowly roll the skin over lightly as you move along over to the other side. Your Lash Strip should now be completely covered and look as if its your own natural lash.
To achieve this really well...buy a very natural looking lash, one that blends well with your own natural one.
Also don't trim lashes once they are on, you will pay dearly once you take them off that night. TRUST ME ON THIS! ;)

TIP#2

BLOTTERS: We all look for a quick fix!
Blotters have been a favorite among Makeup Artists and Women for years.
Some time ago MAC introduced there own form of a Blotter, which is very much like a small piece of latex (Plastic). Very flexible and non residue.
I was given one to try years ago and fell in love.
Never was I fan of "THE BLOTTER" until I found this one.
I do find them expensive though, especially if you go through them like tissue, so when I found one by Clean & Clear in the drugstore...I was happy to have found one in which it was comparable to.
These fit in your purse and take the place of powder.
They take up no space in your purse and easily fit in your back pocket.
I have given them to my Actors to carry onto Award shows as they can easily be hidden.
A quick trip into the corner or bathroom, a small blot and u look as fresh as ever.
You will see the grease come off your skin as the sheet turns clear after the blot.
Old blotters and rice paper use to leave a chalky powder residue, which is why I was never a fan of them before.
You can get these at any drug store and they will cost you $5.00 for 50 sheets. Not bad!
Your skin will love you for it too. Give them a shot!
Better than carrying a big compact with a puff in it that you should have thrown out after its first use!
"YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE LADIES...TOSS THAT DIRTY PUFF, SO UNSANITARY!" :)

TIP #3

EYEBROWS: For those of you who suffer from Eyebrow deformation :)
There is a company who makes a great product to help you sculpt them just the way you like them.
The company is named "Senna" and they make an Eyebrow FORM A BROW KIT! It comes with 3 colors to match your brow and 3 different stencils to hold over your brow.
Its as easy as filling in the lines!
Awesome kit to help guide you back to form! ;)

TIP #4

CONCEALERS: I think this is the most popular drug on earth for women and everyone wants an answer!
Unfortunately with Foundations and Concealers each person is an individual with individual color and needs.
So in saying this I will say what I always say...
to get this correct, you must take the time to go to a counter and let a professional help guide you to the right color and product.
I realize the counters are expensive, but these Makeup Professionals are there not only to sell...yes, but to help you pick the right product at "NO COST TO YOU!"
So be strong and firm, go in and let them pick your color.
Write down the colors or dab them on a piece of paper or napkin, then go to your affordable Makeup shopping store, maybe Target and match the low budget lines to your color.
You don't need to spend a lot of money.
If you would like the more expensive line, then know this...A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! Foundation and Concealer should last a good while, so since those 2 products are the most detrimental to our faces, they are worth it.
Not to say that a lower budget product is different.
Some of the most expensive lines also own the small lines, the label is just slapped on the bottle and trust me, you will never know.
So ladies...GO TO THE COUNTER!
Stop buying Makeup and taking up space in your bathroom drawer. You know you will never use it again and you could have just spent the extra money and bought the right one.
You would have more drawer space for all those extra things you have been wanting to fit in there! ;)

TIP #5

FACIAL: You Face is everything!!! Even though it is expensive, I will never stop promoting this brush. It is my "FAVORITE TOOL AT HOME!" I cant live without it and all my Heroes use it too. If you are gonna invest in one thing for your face, this would be my suggestion to you.
It's the "Clarisonic!" You can use it in the shower everyday to wash your face with your favorite scrub.
It makes a huge difference in taking off dead skin cells and feels amazing. Next best thing to a facial. I gift them as gifts all the time in my business and I 100% back this product! ;)

TIP #6

PRODUCTS: I am always getting asked what are my favorite Makeup Lines, Products, Skin Care, or otherwise. I also always get asked what I use on who.
Most Makeup Artists will tell you that they don't just use one line. WE USE THEM ALL!
We are given product constantly.
We are the lab rats for Makeup Companies, because what we try and use on our Actors, obviously helps these companies promote and sell their products.
So you can just imagine how many things we try everyday.
I will however list below "SOME" of the things I have used for a long time and come to love over the years, along with "SOME" of my favorite lines and if you choose to try them, I hope they work as well for you, as they do for me on the set and off.

Among a few of my Favorites...

LIPS: Mac Spice Lip Pencil (Very good color on "ALMOST" everyone.
Mac also makes a beautiful Lip Pencil color that is pretty versatile also on most black skin called Vino.

Mascaras: Makeup For Ever Lengthening, Cover Girl Lashblast, Clinique doubling.

Cheeks: Benefit Boxed Blushes, especially dallas as a bronzing blush.

Makeup Lines: For Foundations & Concealers: Estee Lauder, Clinique, Dermalogica, Bobbi Brown

For Colors: Blushes, Shadows, & Lips: Benefit, Stila, Mac

Skin Care: Clinique, Dermalogica, Estee Lauder

***For Low Budget Shopping: Max Factor and Cover Girl
Skincare: NEUTROGENA ALL THE WAY! ;) ***

  10. I'd like some advice on how to sculpt the face using powders. Bronzers just dont look good me and one brand of powder sculpting powders make me look muddy. How to hide chins, make the face look less round, and highlight cheekbones.

  11. This is terrific! I love seeing how things work behind the scenes and I love it when people share their knowledge to help others. I can second the last request about sculpting the face, especially in regards to tv/photography since that can sometimes be different from how makeup reads in person.
